KBRN, Jakarta: I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali estimates tourist peak arrivals to Bali will occur on December 29 and the return flow peak will occur on January 2, 2025.

“If I am not mistaken, December 27 is a working day, this Friday. So, we predict it will be on December 29,” said I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Communication and Legal Division Head Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi in a conversation with Pro 3 RRI on Thursday as reported by rri.co.id.

Gede said in facing the peak of arrivals and return flows, Ngurah Rai Airport prioritizes safety, security, and service by mobilizing 1,300 officers.

“We have built posts with stakeholders, such as the Air Force, National Police, and customary villages, Pecalang, to maintain traffic,” he said.

The airport also provides entertainment for the people who come to Ngurah Rai Airport. Several events have been prepared.

“There is Santa Claus who distributes gifts. These are differences that we give to service customers,” he said.

Gede said that Ngurah Rai Airport experienced an increase in passengers during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays in the period of December 18 - 25, 2024.

More than 562,000 passengers have been recorded in the 2024 Christmas and New Year, an increase of 8 percent compared that of the 2023 which amounted to 522,000 passengers.

He said, public desires to spend Nataru holidays in Bali is very high. Bali is still a favorite vacation destination for people.

“Most of the arrivals were dominated by travelers from Jakarta and Surabaya,” he said.

Gede said that around 40 percent of the tourists who came were domestic tourists. The other 60 percent were foreign tourists.

“The highest domestic routes are from Jakarta and Surabaya,” said Gede.

“For international routes, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Perth Australia are the highest right now,” he added.

He also noted 150 movements for extra flights to Surabaya, Pontianak, Lombok, and Banjarmasin during the Nataru period.

Gede advised people who traveled to Bali to adjust their arrival schedule to match the rainy weather.

“This is to maintain safety and comfort for passengers and service users who want to have vacation in Bali,” he said. ***
