RRI .CO.ID, Jakarta – Duri Station is a major railway station in West Jakarta, Jakarta, serving both commuter trains and airport rail services. Located in the Duri area of Tambora District, the station is part of Jakarta’s extensive public transportation network and connects passengers traveling between Jakarta and several parts of the metropolitan area.

The station was inaugurated on January 2, 1899 by the Dutch East Indies state-owned company Staatsspoorwagen (SS). It is the first point of a railway built westward to Tangerang, now in Banten.

Today, Duri Station is an important interchange for the KRL Commuter Line, Jakarta’s electric commuter railway system. Commuter trains from the station serve Tangerang Line (Brown Line) toward Tangerang in the west and Cikarang Loop Line (Light Blue Line) toward Cikarang in the east, making Duri an important point for daily commuters.

Duri is also a station on the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line. The airport rail service provides a connection between Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Jakarta, with Duri serving as one of the stations where passengers can transfer between airport trains and commuter services.

The station stands nine meters above sea level, and has five tracks designed to handle the different railway services operating through the area. Its role has become increasingly important as Jakarta has expanded its integrated public transportation system and encouraged connections between different modes of transport.

Duri Station is located in a densely populated part of West Jakarta, where modern transportation infrastructure exists alongside established urban neighborhoods and commercial areas. This setting makes the station part of the everyday transportation landscape for both local residents and visitors traveling around Greater Jakarta.

Duri Station is an example of how the city's railway system serves multiple purposes within a single station. It functions not only as a commuter railway stop but also as a connection between Jakarta's urban rail network and the city's main international airport.
