RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Youth Pledge Museum (Museum Sumpah Pemuda) is a historical museum in Central Jakarta, Jakarta dedicated to the Indonesian youth movement and the events surrounding the Youth Pledge of 1928. Located on historic Kramat Raya Street, it houses a building that was once used as a meeting place and residence for young Indonesian activists during the Dutch colonial era.
The building became closely associated with the Indonesian youth movement in the early 20th century Dutch East Indies. At the time, young people from different ethnic and regional backgrounds were forming organizations and discussing the idea of a united Indonesian nation.

The most important event took place during the Second Youth Congress, held in the building on October 27–28, 1928. During the congress, representatives of youth organizations from different parts of the Dutch East Indies expressed their commitment to one homeland, one nation, and one unifying language: Indonesia.
This declaration became known as the "Youth Pledge" (Sumpah Pemuda). It is considered an important milestone in the development of Indonesian national identity because it emphasized unity among people from diverse ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.

The museum's exhibits document the history of the youth movement and the organizations that participated in the congress. Its collection includes photographs, documents, historical objects, and information about figures involved in the movement, as well as materials related to the development of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya, introduced during the 1928 congress.
The building itself is also part of the museum's historical significance. Known historically as a place called Indonesische Clubgebouw, it was used by young activists as a center for meetings and discussions, reflecting the role of youth organizations in the emergence of Indonesia's nationalist movement.
Youth Pledge Museum introduces visitors to a period when the idea of an Indonesian nation was still developing under colonial rule. It provides historical context for understanding why October 28 is commemorated annually in Indonesia as Youth Pledge Day and how the youth movement contributed to the country's later independence in 1945.
