RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The 21st edition of the Indonesia Travel Fair (ITF 2026) has officially returned under the banner theme The World on Sale is Back to accelerate the recovery and growth of the national tourism, aviation, hospitality, and wellness sectors.

The high-profile event is taking place at the Jakarta International Convention Centre (JICC) from May 29 to May 31, 2026. Event organizers have set ambitious benchmarks for the three-day exhibition, aiming to attract more than 30,000 visitors while targeting a total transaction potential exceeding Rp60 billion.

The Ministry of Tourism highlighted that ITF 2026 serves as a critical mechanism for strengthening the domestic tourism ecosystem through massive cross-industry partnerships. Acting Deputy for Event Organization at the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism, Vincensius Jemadu, expressed the government's high expectations for the exhibition's long-term regional impact.

"We hope this event will not only encourage tourist movement but also enhance Indonesia's competitiveness as a leading destination in the region," Vincensius Jemadu said in an official release on Thursday, May 28, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

The 2026 exhibition successfully integrates a wide array of stakeholders, including travel agencies, commercial airlines, tourism boards, major hospitals, and specialized health institutions. Visitors attending the fair can access a diverse range of exclusive offers, including discounted airline tickets, domestic and international holiday packages, curated Umrah pilgrimage programs, comprehensive medical check-up packages, and premium health lifestyle products.

A defining milestone of this year's event is the seamless merger between medical services and leisure travel. The General Chairman of the Indonesia Health and Tourism Society, Sandiaga S. Uno, emphasized that the integration of the health and tourism sectors presents an extraordinary opportunity to establish a powerful new engine for Indonesia's economic growth.

"We are proud because for the first time, almost all major hospital networks are present together, representing more than 300 quality hospitals in Indonesia, in a single national health tourism collaboration," declared Sandiaga S. Uno.

Sandiaga added that this unified institutional push is explicitly expected to sharpen Indonesia's competitive edge as a premier medical tourism destination on both the global stage and across Asia. To further consolidate this effort, the main travel fair is being held concurrently with the 7th Indonesia Wellness & Health Tourism Expo (IWHTE) at the same venue.

Chairman of ITF 2026, Panca R. Sarungu, noted that this year's event arrives at a critical juncture for the recovery of the domestic travel sector, particularly as the industry navigates complex global headwinds. He specifically pointed to contemporary challenges, such as the direct impacts of the ongoing Middle East crisis on the international travel market, which require a resilient domestic response.

"We hope this event can revive the foundations of Indonesian tourism through industry collaboration, increased travel, and renewed optimism for the national travel, hospitality, and health tourism sectors," explained Panca R. Sarungu.

Driven by the dual organizational spirit of Saatnya Liburan Hemat dan Hidup Sehat (Time for Affordable Vacations and Healthy Living), the event serves as a strategic platform for citizens. It enables the public to efficiently plan their ideal travel itineraries while simultaneously gaining vital public education regarding high-quality, health-conscious lifestyles. ***
