RRI.CO.ID, Macao - The Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism once again builds up the presence of the Wonderful Indonesia brand in the East Asian market. It is by participating in the Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) 2026.

The Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, in Macau on Sunday, April 12th 2026, stated that Indonesia's presence at MITE 2026 demonstrates its commitment to promoting sustainable tourism globally.

"This participation aims to raise awareness of Indonesian tourism, which is currently transforming into sustainable tourism," Ni Made Ayu said.

She affirmed that this participation is a strategic step to promote the new face of Indonesian tourism, which focuses on quality and sustainability. The Wonderful Indonesia Pavilion at MITE 2026 reflects the synergy between the Ministry of Tourism, the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macau, and the national airline Garuda Indonesia for China, Hong Kong, and Greater China.

Located at The Venetian Macao – Cotai Expo, Hall ABC booth C36 on April 10–12, 2026, the pavilion showcases Priority Tourism Destinations (PDTs) as well as Regenerative Tourism Destinations (DPRs).

During the three-day event, the pavilion facilitated Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings through a Pre-Scheduled Appointment (PSA) system, as well as Business-to-Consumer (B2C) activities to encourage direct tour package transactions.

The promotional focus covered Jakarta, Bali, Bintan, Yogyakarta–Borobudur, East Java, and Labuan Bajo, with an emphasis on special interest tourism such as gastronomy, wellness, marine tourism, and textile-based cultural immersion. Throughout the exhibition, the Indonesian pavilion recorded 109 inquiries from potential buyers.

In addition to business negotiations, the Wonderful Indonesia Pavilion also provided information services and promotional material distribution to ensure comprehensive information about Indonesia's leading destinations was delivered to prospective tourists.

"Through the Wonderful Indonesia Pavilion, we are expanding our network of partnerships for the Macau community, international tourists, and the Indonesian diaspora, while also demonstrating that Indonesia offers sustainable and regenerative tourism. We invite the world to see Indonesia beyond its natural beauty, #GoBeyondOrdinary," Ni Made Ayu conveyed.

She added that connectivity is a key factor in accelerating tourist visits from East Asian markets, particularly Macau. Travel access is currently supported by national and international airlines through Hong Kong, including Garuda Indonesia as a strategic partner.

"The Ministry of Tourism is committed to strengthening collaboration with national airlines to increase the frequency and expand the direct flight network in the future," he said.
