RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta: The Indonesian government is actively advancing the revitalization of Jakarta Pavilion at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah in Jakarta, Sunday, March 29, 2026. Jakarta Vice Governor, Rano Karno, directly inspected the pavilion area located in East Jakarta.

He said the Indonesian provincial government is fully ready to begin a major revitalization effort. He further explained the project will adopt a comprehensive long term vision lasting up to 20 years ahead.

The concept will emphasize immersive visitor experiences supported by modern and interactive digital technology. The plan reflects changing perspectives among younger generations across Indonesia today.

Rano expressed optimism the pavilion will become a representative cultural showcase of Jakarta. It will actively promote Betawi culture and reflect the city’s diverse communities. The site is expected to serve broader education and tourism purposes for visitors.

The revitalization has been carefully planned by the Indonesian government over the past two years. Funding will combine non regional budget sources and the regional budget scheme.

This approach aims to ensure sustainable and flexible financing for the overall project. The Indonesian government estimates total funding needs at around Rp77.5 billion for completion.

The plan was initially prepared in 2024 by the spatial planning and land agency. The agency developed the early design concept and structured the funding framework.

For the initial phase, Rp25 billion in 2026 will come from PT Wisma Nusantara Internasional support. The government is also seeking another Rp25 billion from similar funding partnership schemes. This would bring total non budget contributions to approximately Rp50 billion.

The remaining Rp27.5 billion will be covered by the 2027 regional budget allocation plan. Asset clearance is officially scheduled to begin in April 2026 as an early step. Construction work is targeted to start in June 2026 following the preparation phase.

Before delivering his statement, Rano underlined the growing urgency of digital adaptation in public spaces. He noted that younger generations now expect more interactive and engaging cultural experiences.

“Now children have different perspectives. We must move toward digital because that is the era,” he said.

Rano also provided details about the long standing planning process behind the revitalization program. He highlighted the financial structure supporting the project implementation.

“Revitalization has been planned since 2024, with total funding needs reaching Rp77.5 billion,” he said.
