RRI.CO.ID, Semarang - Central Java Fair 2026 attracted around 125,000 visitors and generated Rp5 billion in transactions during its 10-day run. The annual event officially closed at the Central Java Recreation and Development Promotion Center (PRPP) Complex in Semarang on Sunday, July 5, 2026.

The figures marked an increase from last year's event, which welcomed around 100,000 visitors. The exhibition featured regional products, entertainment, and innovation showcases from government agencies, universities, and businesses.

Vice Governor of Central Java, Taj Yasin Maimoen, praised the event for attracting strong public participation. He said the collaboration between the provincial government, stakeholders, and PRPP management contributed to the event's success.

The vice governor said the fair also created a significant economic impact for the province. He highlighted the strong circulation of money generated throughout the event.

"One word for Central Java Fair: extraordinary. The circulation of money has been remarkable." Taj Yasin said.

Taj Yasin also called for revitalizing the PRPP complex to strengthen its appeal as a tourism destination. He hopes redevelopment can begin in 2027, allowing the site to regain its role as one of Central Java's iconic attractions.

He added that sustainable tourism will become one of Central Java's main priorities next year. According to him, revitalizing PRPP could support broader tourism growth across the province.

Meanwhile, President Director of the Central Java Recreation and Development Promotion Center (PRPP), Shafigh Pahlevi Lontoh, said visitor numbers were estimated using parking data, ticket sales, and transaction records. He noted that the actual attendance could be higher because some visitors arrived by ride-hailing services or attended free activities.

The closing ceremony also recognized the best exhibition participants from government institutions, state-owned enterprises, regional-owned enterprises, and private companies. The fair additionally featured regional innovation exhibitions in collaboration with the Central Java Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA).
