RRI.CO.ID, Bali - Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana expressed appreciation to all parties for their dedication and efforts in providing optimal services to tourists, particularly in Bali, during the 2026 Nyepi Day and Eid holiday period.

“We highly appreciate the TNI, Polri, civil servants, and all tourism industry players who have provided excellent service to tourists during their stay in Bali throughout the Eid and Nyepi holidays,” Widiyanti said during a visit to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Thursday, March 26, 2026.

She hopes that the best services can continue throughout the remaining Eid holiday period and homecoming flow until the end of the week, including at the airport as one of the main gateways to national tourism.

During the visit, the minister began by reviewing the Domestic Departure Terminal. Accompanied by the airport’s General Manager, Nugroho Jati, she visited the information booth (customer service counter) to ensure officers provide excellent and inclusive services for tourists in need of assistance.

The minister also reviewed the service flow in the self check-in area and the check-in counters of Garuda Indonesia. Based on her observations, she appreciated the airport management’s efforts to ease passenger congestion during the return travel period.

She also directly interacted with and greeted passengers waiting for domestic departures to hear their impressions and experiences while vacationing in Bali, as well as to ensure their satisfaction with airport facilities.

The minister then visited Sarinah, a showcase featuring curated local products ranging from textiles and handicrafts to Micro Small and Medium Enterprises culinary products that can be taken as souvenirs. She also visited other tenants such as Bali Banana and Falala Chocolate Bali.

The visit continued to the Eid Standby Post at the Domestic Arrival Terminal, where the minister received data on the number of flights and passengers before and after Eid.

“We received a report that the number of domestic and international tourist trips to Bali via air entry points during the Eid holiday period (D-8 to D+3) reached 807,360 people, an increase of 3.7 percent compared to the same period last year. For domestic tourists, I was informed there was a 13.4 percent increase, totaling 358,356 passengers,” she said.

Meanwhile, General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Nugroho Jati, explained that based on InJourney Airports data as of March 26, 2026, there was an increase in the number of flights during this year’s Eid period compared to last year.

During the same period (D-8 to D+3), total domestic flights rose by 13.5 percent to around 2,417 flights, with passenger numbers increasing by 13.4 percent to 358,356 passengers.

The highest number of domestic flights occurred on D-4 (March 17, 2026) with 205 flights carrying 32,337 passengers, and on D-3 (March 18, 2026) also with 205 flights carrying 31,657 passengers.

Nugroho added that the homecoming flow is still ongoing, and the Eid period calculation will close on March 30, 2026. For the post-Eid period, on D+2 (March 24, 2026), domestic flights increased by 23.3 percent to 212 flights, with a total of 33,782 passengers.

“For the Eid period, it will be closed on the 30th. So far, D+2 is the peak of the return flow for both flights and passengers,” Nugroho said.
