RRI.CO.ID, Malang - Authorities at Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) have increased the daily visitor quota to Mount Bromo by 1,000 during the Eid holiday season, anticipating a surge in tourist visits.
TNBTS spokesperson Endrip Wahyutama said on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Malang, East Java, that the adjustment is a routine measure taken during long weekends and extended holidays.
“For long weekends, the daily quota is set at 3,572 visitors, with an additional 1,000 slots available starting at 7:00 a.m. The normal quota is 2,752,” he explained, as quoted by Antara.
To ensure smooth access, park officials have prepared measures to prevent congestion, particularly from tourist jeeps. Several traffic-prone routes -- including Sunrise View Point at Simpang Dingklik, Pakis Bincil, Bukit Kedaluh, Watu Gedhe, and Jemplang -- will receive extra monitoring.
A total of 60 personnel from TNBTS, police, military, local administration, and community groups have been deployed to manage security and traffic flow.
Ticket prices during the holiday period are set at IDR 79,000 for domestic visitors and IDR 255,000 for international tourists. All ticket purchases must be made online through the official TNBTS website, bromotenggersemeru.id.
Officials expect peak tourist numbers on Sunday, March 22, and Monday, March 23. Endrip urged visitors to follow park regulations to ensure safety and comfort.
He cautioned against entering disaster-prone areas, particularly near the PVMBG monitoring equipment in the Bromo Caldera, often referred to as “Planet Bromo.”
Motorcyclists were also advised to check their vehicles thoroughly, as the routes feature steep climbs and sharp descents. ***
