RRI.CO.ID, Berlin - Indonesia, through the Ministry of Tourism, is promoting the #GoBeyondOrdinary campaign as part of Wonderful Indonesia’s participation at ITB Berlin 2026, the world’s largest, oldest, and most prestigious business-to-business (B2B) tourism trade fair.
Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, while opening the Indonesia Pavilion at the Berlin ExpoCenter, Messe Berlin on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, said the theme #GoBeyondOrdinary was chosen to emphasize Indonesia’s position as a destination that offers not only stunning landscapes but also high-quality tourism experiences with added value.
“The #GoBeyondOrdinary campaign reflects the Ministry of Tourism’s flagship program, Quality Tourism, which focuses on creating added value through inclusivity and sustainability,” Widiyanti said in an official statement.
ITB Berlin 2026 takes place from March 2–5, 2026. The Indonesia Pavilion occupies a 441-square-meter area at Hall 26, Booth No. 111, marking one of the largest Indonesian participations in the past five years. The pavilion showcases five special-interest tourism packages: marine tourism, gastronomy, wellness, wastra (traditional textiles), and Muslim-friendly tourism.
This year, the Ministry of Tourism is also promoting Priority Tourism Destinations (DPP) and Regenerative Tourism Destinations (DPR) at ITB Berlin 2026. At the Indonesia Pavilion, these destinations are introduced through immersive experiences designed to attract international travelers to explore Indonesia, alongside various curated travel packages. These initiatives align with the ministry’s Quality Tourism program.
More than 91 tourism industry players from 11 provinces are participating, including accommodation providers, Destination Management Companies (DMC), travel agencies and tour operators, tourism villages, and other tourism service providers.
“More than 91 industry players from 11 provinces are here representing the diversity and strength of Indonesia’s tourism sector. Your presence is clear proof that Indonesia’s tourism grows through collaboration, hard work, and shared trust,” Widiyanti said.
The Ministry of Tourism is also using ITB Berlin as a strategic platform to strengthen the promotion of Muslim-friendly tourism packages, which are increasingly popular among global travelers. This is considered a promising opportunity, as ITB Berlin brings together buyers from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.
“With its diverse attractions, Indonesia offers travel experiences that touch the hearts and senses of visitors through interactions with local communities, rich cultural heritage, and authentic traditions in every destination,” Widiyanti added.
Through its participation in ITB Berlin 2026, the Ministry of Tourism is targeting 498,000–541,000 potential tourist transactions (pax), equivalent to an estimated Rp12.9–Rp14.3 trillion in potential foreign exchange earnings. The target reflects optimism about the tourism sector’s growing contribution to national economic growth.
During her working visit to Berlin, Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana also visited the Indonesia Cultural House (Rumah Budaya Indonesia/RBI) Berlin, a cultural diplomacy center managed by the Indonesian Embassy that strengthens cultural ties between Indonesia and Germany.
