They are enthusiastic about riding the steam train that traverses the green expanse and the beautiful panorama of Lake Rawa Pening. 

Meanwhile, visitors can experience authentic Indonesian railway history at the Ambarawa Railway Museum. 

Upon arrival at Tuntang Station, visitors are greeted by a warm local atmosphere. Tourists can enjoy a variety of traditional culinary delights such as fresh herbal drinks and warm porridge, watch regional dances, and take photos at various Instagrammable spots. 

Even more interesting, boat tours are now available in the Tuntang Station area, operating from 9 AM to 4 PM local time with a promotional rate of IDR 10,000 per person for a 20-minute duration and a maximum capacity of six passengers. 

Not only can passengers tour the Tuntang River, but they can also enjoy fresh fish caught from the Tuntang River directly on the boat.

According to a release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, this cultural heritage museum houses a collection of heritage railway equipment. It also includes steam locomotives, diesel locomotives, and iconic trains, serving as both an educational and cultural attraction for local and international tourists. 

Passengers can not only cruise around the Tuntang River, but also enjoy freshly caught fish right on board. VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Wisata Otnial, Eko Pamiarso, said that traveling on the Ambarawa-Tuntang steam train brings back memories, education, and pride in Indonesia's railway heritage.
