KBRN, Singaraja: Hotel occupancy rates in Buleleng Regency, Bali Province, are trending upward ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays. Several popular hotels have already reached more than 90 percent occupancy, while others have closed reservations due to full capacity.
Gede Dody Sukma Oktiva Askara, head of the Buleleng Tourism Agency, said the figures were based on coordination with accommodation businesses, particularly the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI). He noted that the surge reflects the success of intensive tourism promotion efforts carried out in recent months.
“Based on our coordination with colleagues in the hospitality industry, after Christmas and New Year, some popular hotels are already booked above 90 percent. Some have even closed reservations, meaning their rooms are full,” Dody said on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
He added that the positive trend has significantly boosted the local economy, benefiting the service, culinary, transportation, and souvenir sectors.
The increase in tourist arrivals is also expected to strengthen promotion of destinations in North Bali, particularly Lovina Beach, Pemuteran Tourism Village, and Singaraja.
“This is very encouraging for us. Our tourism promotion efforts so far have matched the increase in visits and hotel bookings. Hopefully, this trend will continue until the end of December,” he said.
While optimistic, Dody reminded business operators to maintain service quality, cleanliness, and health protocols. He also emphasized the importance of favorable weather conditions to prevent booking cancellations, which could affect the tourism sector.
“Hopefully, the weather will remain conducive so there will be no hotel cancellations. We continue to coordinate with all parties to ensure tourists feel comfortable and safe while vacationing in Buleleng,” he said.
With rising hotel occupancy rates, Dody is confident that Buleleng will achieve its 2025 tourism target while driving sustainable regional economic growth. (Misni Parjiati/Lasti Martina)
