KBRN, Bogor Regency:Tourists traveling for holidays recently have shown concern for eco-friendly practices, according to data from online travel agency tiket.com.

Senior Vice President of Accommodation at tiket.com, Cisyelya Bunyamin in Bogor Regency, West Java, on Thursday said that during the Christmas and New Year 2024-2025 holiday period, they experienced a surge in bookings of up to 27 percent compared to the previous year, for accommodations labeled tiket Green. This feature of the travel agency is for accommodations that implement eco-friendly practices.

Many of the eco-friendly accommodations booked were in favorite destinations such as Jakarta, Bali, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya.

"This figure proves that tourists' awareness of responsible travel is increasing," said Cisyelya as quoted by antaranews.com.

Since its initial launch in April 2024 until the first quarter of 2025, the number of accommodations joining tiket Green has reached over 2,500 hotels spread across Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

The company provides six indicators to curate accommodations for tiket Green, adapted from global sustainable tourism standards: food management, water, waste, energy efficiency, sustainable education, and biodiversity conservation.

They also collaborate with stakeholders to conduct regular audits to maintain the quality of these eco-friendly and sustainable services.

Cisyelya said that tiket.com would also expand the scope of these green services to other areas, including transportation and tourism activities. ***
