RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The rampant spread of disinformation, hate speech, intolerance, and the misuse of digital technology are new challenges facing the Indonesian nation in the era of digital transformation. On the occasion of Pancasila Day (Pancasila is the foundation of the Indonesian state, which combines five values: divinity, humanity, unity, democracy, and social justice), on June 1, 2026 in Jakarta, Vice Minister of Communication and Digital, Angga Raka Prabowo, emphasized that the values of Pancasila must continue to be the primary guideline for maintaining national unity amidst the rapid flow of information.

According to him, the rapid development of information technology has opened up opportunities for national progress. However, this progress also presents risks that must be anticipated together to prevent the erosion of social cohesion and national values.

Angga believes that technological advancement alone is not enough to overcome these challenges. He stated that the Indonesian nation needs a strong foundation of values so that digital development can benefit society while maintaining national unity.

"In facing these various challenges, Pancasila must continue to be the primary guideline. The values of Pancasila must be present in concrete actions, not just memorized, not just a mantra we recite, but embodied in our daily lives," he affirmed.

He explained that since the nation's founding, Pancasila has proven to be a glue capable of maintaining Indonesian unity amidst the diversity of ethnicities, cultures, languages, and beliefs. When the nation faces social conflict, economic crises, and even threats of disintegration, the values of Pancasila have always been a force maintaining Indonesia's integrity.

Therefore, Vice Minister Angga reminded that the digital space should not become an arena that exacerbates differences and divides society. Instead, technology should be utilized to strengthen unity, expand access to education, and open up space for creativity and innovation for all.
