Indonesia Bolsters Digital Transformation Through T3

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Vice Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, outlined the direction of Indonesia’s national digital transformation policy during a working meeting with Committee I of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) on Tuesday, 20 January 2026. The presentation emphasized the importance of digital development that is Connected, Growing, and Secure, abbreviated as T3, as the foundation for strengthening national development.
“To respond to the developments and challenges of national digital transformation, the ministry has formulated three main policy signals that serve as the overarching direction of our digital development, namely connected, growing, and Secure, which we abbreviate as 3T,” the Vice Minister said.W
He also affirmed the Ministry’s role as the orchestrator, enabler, and accelerator of national digital transformation. According to him, digital transformation is directed to generate tangible impacts, ranging from increased economic productivity and more integrated public services to the reduction of interregional disparities.
While at the same time building a safe and trustworthy digital space. “We are discussing the ministry as an orchestrator, an enabler, and also an accelerator. Within the framework of formulating and realizing the 3T pillars, this effort is directed toward delivering tangible impacts, ranging from increased economic productivity and more integrated public services to reducing disparities between regions, while at the same time building a digital space that is safe and trustworthy,” he conveyed.
In its implementation, the ministry runs a number of priority programs aligned with the T3 framework. Under the Connected pillar, the focus is on accelerating nationwide connectivity through national fibqerization, the development of gigabit cities, spectrum management, expansion of internet access, and the strengthening of the data center and cloud computing industry.
The Growing pillar is realized through the development of integrated digital government, smart cities, the National Data Center, interoperability of the Electronic-Based Government System, regulatory sandboxes, digitalization of priority sectors, and the acceleration of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. This growth is further reinforced by the development of digital talent and literacy through training programs, scholarships, vocational education, and capacity building for public officials.
Meanwhile, the Secure pillar is implemented through digital content supervision, child protection, the development of digital forensic laboratories, and efforts to protect the public from the negative impacts of technology.
