RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s national esports team secured the silver medal in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) at the Aichi–Nagoya 2026 Asian Games after falling 0–4 to Myanmar in Thursday’s final at Aichi Sky Hall.

Head coach Kenny Deo admitted the defeat was tough to swallow. “It’s very sad, especially because we couldn’t even take a single point. Personally, I feel embarrassed. But I believe my players gave their best, and for that I’m still grateful,” he said after the match, as quoted by Antara.

Myanmar seized control from the opening game, scoring the first elimination and dominating objectives by securing every Turtle and the first Lord. They maintained relentless pressure, eventually closing out Game 1 to lead 1–0.

Indonesia briefly held the upper hand in Game 2, but Myanmar rallied midway, equalizing gold and surging ahead in eliminations to win 22–14. The momentum carried into Game 3, where Myanmar’s Lord capture proved decisive, sealing an 18–6 victory.

In Game 4, Indonesia fought hard in a back‑and‑forth contest, but Myanmar’s dominance in the mid‑game and second Lord push ended the series 4–0, clinching the gold medal.

Despite the final setback, Indonesia’s silver medal capped a spirited campaign. The team had bounced back from an opening 0–2 loss to Malaysia in Group B, defeating Saudi Arabia 2–0 to reach the knockout stage.

They then stunned the Philippines 2–1 in the quarterfinals and swept Mongolia 2–0 in the semifinals to book their place in the final.

Myanmar’s path to gold included group wins over Uzbekistan and Hong Kong, a 2–1 quarterfinal victory against Cambodia, and a 2–0 semifinal triumph over Malaysia.

Indonesia’s MLBB roster featured Alexander Owen Marcetami Buhe, Arif Fudin Dingarai Putra, Dalvin Ramadhana Putra, Muhammad Affan Wahyudi, Syauki Fauzan Sumarno, and Albert Neilsen Iskandar.

The silver medal adds to Indonesia’s growing esports profile at the Asian Games, underscoring both the team’s resilience and the rising competitiveness of MLBB on the continental stage. ***
