RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesian canoeist Herlin Aprilin Lali won a bronze medal in the women's canoe single (C1) 200-meter event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games at the Miyoshi Lake Canoe Course in Japan on Thursday, September 24.
Herlin finished third in the final in 47.309 seconds.
Uzbekistan's Shohsanam Sherzodova won gold in 46.597 seconds, while China's Shuai Changwen took silver in 46.613 seconds, Antara reported.
The race for gold was closely contested, with Sherzodova finishing just 0.016 seconds ahead of Shuai. Herlin crossed the finish line 0.712 seconds behind the winner.
Herlin showed promising form from the heats on Wednesday.
In Heat 1, she finished second in 47.530 seconds to secure a place in Final A.
She finished behind Sherzodova, who recorded 46.942 seconds, while Thailand's Orasa Thiangkathok placed third in 48.795 seconds.
In the final, Herlin improved to 47.309 seconds to secure a podium spot. The medal was Indonesia's first sprint canoe medal at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. ***
