Pencak Silat Showcase Captivates Indonesia Sport Summit 2026 Finale

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The closing day of the Indonesia Sports Summit (ISS) 2026 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Senayan, was marked by a striking cultural highlight: a special pencak silat performance through The World Heritage Showcase.

Audiences were treated to dynamic displays by Indonesia’s finest silat athletes, presenting diverse traditions of the martial art alongside celebrated figures such as Christine Hakim, Yayan Ruhiyan, Prisia Nasution, Asri Welas, and Surya Saputra.

The showcase blended artistry and combat, featuring weapon demonstrations with sticks and knives, choreographed fight sequences, and even a daring act where a silat practitioner navigated obstacles blindfolded -- underscoring concentration, balance, and mastery of movement.

“This was my first time watching pencak silat live. The stick and knife performance was especially exciting,” said Kenzi, one of the spectators, as quoted on the Indonesian Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports official website.
