RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian rider Muhammad Kiandra Ramadhipa remains in contention for a top-three finish in the 2026 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup despite failing to finish the opening San Marino race at Misano Circuit, Italy, on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
Kiandra Ramadhipa crashed on lap 11 at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, according to the Red Bull Rookies Cup website. The 16-year-old started the race from 20th after being penalized for riding too slowly, despite qualifying sixth, Antara reported.
The penalty forced him to drop several positions on the starting grid and affected his position heading into the race. Fernando Bujosa won the San Marino race, followed by Guillem Planques in second and Carlos Cano in third.
Despite the setback, Ramadhipa remains fourth in the provisional championship standings with 101 points. He trails championship leader Benat Fernandez by 51 points. Fernando Bujosa is second with 137 points, while Ryota Ogiwara is third with 122 points.
Ramadhipa still has a strong opportunity to move into the top three, with three races remaining in the 2026 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. The remaining races consist of the second San Marino race and two final races at the Red Bull Ring in Austria on September 19 and 20.
