Indonesia’s Yeremia/Patra Finish Runner-Up at Pontianak Masters 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s men’s doubles pair Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan/Patra Harapan Rindorindo finished as runners-up at the Polytron Pontianak Indonesia Masters 2026. Yere/Patra fell to second-seeded Chia Yen Lin/Lin Yong Sheng of Chinese Taipei in a tense three-game final.

The Indonesian duo lost 21-11, 19-21, 20-22 after one hour of play at GOR Terpadu Ahmad Yani, Pontianak, on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

After the match, Patra expressed gratitude for completing the Super 100 tournament without injury. “Praise God we finished the match safely. Even though we ended as runners-up, we were spared from injury,” he said.

Patra admitted their defeat stemmed from lapses in composure and focus. Despite forcing a deciding game, they conceded crucial points on the opponent’s serve. “We weren’t calm enough and lost focus. We pushed the third game to setting, but missed out because of their serve. It’s unfortunate,” he explained.

Yeremia added that the match was marked by relentless attacking exchanges. “All four of us kept pressing, rarely lifting the shuttle. Whenever someone lifted, they lost the point. That made the rallies very intense and tight,” he said.

He also thanked the crowd for their strong support. “We felt proud and happy with the fans’ enthusiasm. Every seat was filled, and the atmosphere gave us energy,” Yeremia noted.

This marks their second consecutive runner-up finish in Pontianak, following the International Challenge 2026. Yeremia acknowledged the need for improvement, particularly in stamina. “Two weeks in a row reaching finals left us physically drained. That’s what we must work on,” he said. (Diffa Sephiawardhani)
