Indonesian Women’s Compound Archers Win Three Medals Ahead of Asian Games

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s women's compound archery squad delivered a strong performance at the Singapore Archery Open 2026 on Saturday, September 5, 2026, securing one gold and two silver medals in their final international test event ahead of the 2026 Asian Games.

Held at Bukit Gombak Stadium in Singapore, the tournament saw complete Indonesian dominance in the women's individual compound event. Nurisa Dian Ashrifah captured the gold medal after defeating teammate Yurike Nina Bonita Pereira 146-142 in an all-Indonesian final, leaving Yurike with the silver, Antara reported.

Yurike had previously topped the qualification round with 695 points, tied with Nurisa and narrowly edged fellow Indonesian archer Ratih Zil'izati Fadhly 10-9 in a semifinal shoot-off after a 143-143 tie. The trio of Nurisa, Yurike, and Ratih added a second silver medal in the women's compound team event, defeating SE Archery Club 229-225 in the semifinals before falling 230-231 to Australia in a close final.

The Singapore event served as the sole international warm-up for Indonesia’s 10-member archery delegation prior to the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, scheduled for September 19 to October 4, 2026.

National archery officials and team administrators viewed the podium finishes as a vital validation of the national training program (pelatnas) during the final lead-up to the continental games. The Indonesian Archery Association (PB Perpani) highlighted the strategic value of international competition for refining match sharpness.

The Singapore Archery Open served as the final international test event for the national archery team to gauge competitive readiness before competing in the Asian Games. Team Indonesia leadership reiterated the importance of maintaining focus as the delegation prepares for Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.
