Indonesia's Men’s Basketball Team Ready for FIBA Asia Cup 2029 Pre-Qualifiers

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian men’s national basketball team is set to compete in the first round of the FIBA Asia Cup 2029 Pre‑Qualifiers in Malaysia. The announcement was made by the Central Board of the Indonesian Basketball Association (PERBASI) in a written statement on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

The tournament will take place in Seremban, Malaysia, from August 24 to September 1, 2026. Indonesia has been drawn into Group C alongside Singapore, Hong Kong, and host nation Malaysia.

Head coach David Singleton’s squad will open their campaign against Singapore on Friday, August 28, 2026. After a one‑day break, Indonesia will face Hong Kong on Sunday, August 30, before closing out the group stage against Malaysia on Monday, August 31.

To advance, Indonesia must finish in the top three of Group C. Coach Singleton confirmed that all players are in peak condition for the competition.

“The players are ready to fight in Malaysia,” he said, expressing confidence that Indonesia can overcome the Group C challenge and progress to the next stage. “We are very optimistic about our chances in Malaysia,” he added.
