RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Satria Legawa Pro Championship 2026 has become more than just a domestic archery competition. It has now become a platform for Indonesia to strengthen its international archery network.

Held at the Jakarta International Equestrian Park from August 21–25, the tournament brought together over a thousand archers from seven countries, reflecting the sport’s growing appeal and Indonesia’s rising profile.

“This championship brings together athletes across age groups and skill levels, while also giving Indonesian archers the chance to gain valuable experience against international competitors,” Air Force Chief of Staff Air Marshal M. Tonny Harjono said in remarks delivered by Air Vice Marshal Palito Sitorus, Assistant for Aerospace Potential, on Friday, August 21, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Organized by the Indonesian Air Force Academy Class of 2002, the competition features 883 athletes from 158 domestic clubs, 80 athletes from six countries--Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, France, and Canada--and 191 officials.

Harjono emphasized that the strong turnout reflects the championship’s evolution into a broader platform. He noted that sporting events should be measured not only by matches but also by their contribution to sustained athlete development. In this context, the Satria Legawa Pro Championship plays a vital role in strengthening Indonesia’s archery ecosystem.

The presence of international athletes, he added, opens opportunities for competitive experience, knowledge exchange, and global networking--especially relevant after Indonesia’s national archery team topped the medal tally at the 2025 SEA Games.

Harjono also praised the Air Force Academy Alumni Class of 2002 (Satria Legawa) for their continued contributions to sports development, urging collaboration with the Indonesian Archery Association (Perpani), National Sport Committee (KONI), sports communities, businesses, and other stakeholders.

He encouraged athletes to use the championship to test their skills and improve performance. “Compete with focus, discipline, and uphold sportsmanship,” he said.

Officials, referees, and judges, he added, must carry out their roles professionally to ensure fair competition and the best experience for all participants. ***
