RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia will field a 432‑strong team across 35 sports at the Asian Games Aichi‑Nagoya 2026, underscoring the nation’s ambition to compete at the highest level in Asia. The Games will take place in Japan from September 19 to October 4.

National Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) Chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari said every athlete was selected through a rigorous evaluation process involving the Ministry of Youth and Sports and national federations.

“The Asian Games is not just a competition, but a stage to show that Indonesian sport continues to grow and can compete with Asia’s best,” he said, as quoted by Antara.

The contingent will also include 148 coaches and officials, along with 32 members of the Chef de Mission (CdM) team. The composition was finalized after assessments of athlete readiness, medal prospects, and technical requirements.

Three sports--boxing, fencing, and table tennis--will participate under self‑funding schemes supported by their federations and partners.

Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir emphasized that only athletes deemed fully prepared were selected. “Every name has gone through strict review, and we are confident Team Indonesia will be competitive in Aichi‑Nagoya,” he said.

CdM Todotua Pasaribu assured that logistical preparations, from travel and accommodation to match operations and athlete return, are being carefully managed. “We are committed to providing the best support so athletes can focus entirely on performance,” he explained.
