RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s trail running team showcased its growing strength in Southeast Asia by capturing two gold medals in the vertical 7km category at the Southeast Asian Trail Running Confederation (SEATRC) 2026.

The victories highlight not only individual excellence but also the nation’s rising profile in regional endurance sports.

In the men’s race, Putra Aldio from Jakarta clocked 1 hour 3 minutes 54 seconds, edging out Filipino runner Christone Dinawanao (1:04:14) and Thailand’s Surachat Thaesi (1:04:46).

In the women’s division, Fitri from South Sulawesi dominated with a time of 1:20:59, ahead of Cambodia’s Laurie Phai (1:22:55) and Thailand’s Pitchanan Mahachot (1:23:42).

Team leader who is also Secretary General of the Indonesian Trail Running Association (ALTI), Donny Gahral Adian praised the achievement.

“We are very proud of Putra Aldio and Fitri for winning gold. Our hope is to secure more golds in other categories so Indonesia can emerge as overall champion,” he said, as quoted by Antara.

The success drew recognition from Marciano Norman, Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI). He emphasized the broader impact of the wins: “This achievement should inspire other trail runners to aim higher and deliver more victories for Indonesia,” he noted.

Beyond medals, the triumph signals Indonesia’s growing competitiveness in trail running, a sport demanding stamina, strategy, and resilience.

With momentum from SEATRC 2026, the team is now setting its sights on expanding its medal tally and cementing Indonesia’s place among Southeast Asia’s trail running elite.

The Southeast Asian Trail Running Confederation (SEATRC) 2026 runs from July 24–25, 2026, at Mount Gede Pangrango National Park, West Java, bringing together elite runners from nine ASEAN countries. ***
