RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Muhammad Reza Falevi made a commanding start in the men’s singles soft tennis event at the Asian Games Aichi–Nagoya 2026, defeating Laos’ Bekki Vongphakdy 4–0 at the Higashiyama Park Tennis Center, Nagoya, on Tuesday, September 22.
Falevi dominated from the opening game, winning four straight sets in succession, Antara reported.
He took the first 4–0, followed by two 4–2 victories, and sealed the match with a 4–1 finish. Vongphakdy struggled to respond, collecting only a handful of points across the second, third, and fourth games.
The victory gives Falevi a strong platform as he continues his campaign in men’s singles.
Later the same day, he is scheduled to face Sherwin Nuguit of the Philippines, a match that could further boost his chances of advancing.
Indonesia’s soft tennis squad has already secured a bronze medal in the men’s team event, marking the contingent’s third medal at Asia’s largest multi‑sport competition.
The team’s journey included a 3–0 win over Nepal, a narrow 1–2 loss to South Korea, and a quarterfinal triumph over India before falling 0–2 to host nation Japan in the semifinals. ***
