RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia will field 27 athletes at the 2026 Southeast Asian Trail Running Championship (SEATRC), using the home event as an opportunity to maximize its medal chances while showcasing the country's growing trail running development program and strengthening its presence in regional competition.

The championship will take place from July 24-26, 2026, at Mount Gede Pangrango in Bogor, West Java, where Indonesian runners are expected to benefit from their familiarity with the challenging course.

The Indonesian squad was selected through a nationwide development program involving regional chapters of the Indonesian Trail Running Association (ALTI) in Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Banten, East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, and Central Sulawesi.

ALTI President Bima Arya Sugiarto praised the provincial associations for producing athletes capable of competing internationally.

"We hope our trail runners, who already understand the course and terrain, can deliver their best performances and record their fastest times," Bima said in a statement on Thursday, July 23, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Indonesia's team manager, Donny Gahral Adian, said the national squad had already arrived near the competition venue and completed its adaptation period. "The athletes are all in top condition," Donny said.

Indonesia will compete in four race categories: Vertical (7 km), Mountain Classic (10 km), Short (42 km), and Long (72 km). "We hope every athlete can give their best performance and make Indonesia proud at the SEATRC," he added. ***
