Indonesia Wins Two Golds and One Silver at IFSC World Cup Chamonix

RRI.CO.ID, Chamonix - Indonesia's sport climbing team won two gold medals and one silver medal in the men's and women's individual speed events at the IFSC World Cup Chamonix 2026 in Chamonix, France, on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

The two gold medals were claimed by Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi in the women's speed event and Veddriq Leonardo in the men's speed event. Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi secured the silver medal after finishing runner-up in the men's speed competition.

Desak Made secured the title after defeating Italy's Giulia Randi in the women's final with a time of 6.22 seconds, ahead of Randi's 6.51 seconds. The victory marked Desak Made's first title in Chamonix and extended her winning streak after claiming gold at the previous World Cup series in Krakow, Poland.

"Tonight, I delivered my best performance. I am very happy to win this gold medal for my country and my team," Desak Made said after the competition, as quoted in a statement released by Indonesia's Ministry of Youth and Sports on Monday, July 13, 2026.

In the men's speed final, Veddriq Leonardo defeated fellow Indonesian Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi. Veddriq finished with a time of 4.89 seconds, while Robby clocked 5.11 seconds to take the silver medal.

Veddriq said the gold medal was his first since winning Olympic gold. He expressed gratitude for returning to the top of the podium after a challenging period of preparation.

"I feel very grateful. This is my first gold medal since the Olympics. Thank you for all the support," Veddriq said.

Assistant speed coach Fitriyani said the athletes delivered their best performances despite not undergoing special training after competing in Krakow. Instead, the team focused on adapting to the conditions in Chamonix ahead of the competition.

The result further reinforced Indonesia's dominance in the speed discipline and provided positive momentum heading into the remaining IFSC World Cup series.
