RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia strengthened its reputation as a global force in speed climbing after Raharjati Nursamsa claimed bronze at the IFSC World Cup Kraków 2026, one of the International Federation of Sport Climbing's top annual events, in Poland on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
"That's correct. In addition to Desak winning gold in the women's individual event, Raharjati also secured a medal by finishing third," Indonesia's assistant coach for the national speed climbing team, Fitriyani, said on Saturday, July 4, while accompanying the team in Kraków, as quoted by Antara.
According to the official IFSC results, Raharjati clocked 4.79 seconds in the four-lane men's final, where he competed against Samuel Watson of the United States and China's Yicheng Zhao and Shouhong Chu.
Watson won the gold medal with a time of 4.60 seconds, while Zhao took silver in 4.69 seconds.
Before reaching the final, Raharjati advanced through the semifinals after competing against fellow Indonesian Aditya Tri Syahria, Chu, and Italy's Luca Robbiati in one of the four-lane semifinal heats.
The other semifinal featured Watson, Zhao, Japan's Ryo Omasa, and Italy's Matteo Zurloni. The two fastest climbers from each semifinal advanced to the medal round, with Raharjati and Chu progressing from one heat, and Watson and Zhao from the other.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's other men's representatives, Veddriq Leonardo and Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi, were eliminated in the round of 32.
Indonesia sent a seven-member squad to the IFSC World Cup Kraków, held from July 3-5, comprising four male and three female athletes. The women's team includes Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, Rajiah Sallsabillah, and Kadek Adi Asih.
In addition to the individual speed events, all seven Indonesian climbers are scheduled to compete in the men's, women's, and mixed relay competitions. ***
