RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian U-18 women's national volleyball team secured a spot in the 2026 Princess Cup semifinals after defeating Hong Kong in straight sets (25-16, 25-22, 25-17), in a match at Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Mall, Thailand, Wednesday, June 24.

This second consecutive victory guaranteed Indonesia's advancement to the semifinals, even though the team still has one remaining group stage match against the host country, Thailand.

Assistant coach Bobby Ade expressed his gratitude that his team played well and that every player got the chance to get on the court. "Today went smoothly. Alhamdulillah, we rotated all the players; everyone is healthy and has experienced game time," Bobby said.

Indonesia was dominant from the start, controlling the first set and closing it out at 25-16. Hong Kong put up a fiercer fight in the second set, but Indonesia maintained their edge during crucial points to win 25-22.

In the third set, Indonesia once again demonstrated superior quality with effective attacks and a solid defense to wrap up the match at 25-17. This second defeat eliminated Hong Kong from semifinal contention, forcing them to continue their campaign in the 5th–8th place classification round.

Hong Kong still has one group stage match left against Australia, while Indonesia is scheduled to face Thailand in their final Group A fixture.

That upcoming match will determine the final standings of the group stage. Following their two consecutive wins, the Red and White squad has shown consistent performance throughout the tournament, and the Indonesian players stand ready to face tougher challenges in the semifinal round.
