RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's tennis player Aldila Sutjiadi moved into the doubles quarterfinals of the 2026 Bad Homburg Open after partnering Vera Zvonareva to a hard-fought victory in the opening round on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Competing in the WTA 500 tournament, Aldila and the Russian veteran overcame Magali Kempen and Alexandra Panova 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 in a match that lasted one hour and 26 minutes, Antara reported.

Aldila and Zvonareva took control early, winning three consecutive games in the opening set and claiming 82.4 percent of points on their first serve. The pair converted their only break point opportunity to secure the set 6-4.

They maintained momentum in the second set, landing 85.7 percent of first serves and building an early advantage. However, Kempen and Panova fought back from 4-4, winning the final two games to level the match.

The deciding super tie-break remained close throughout, with both teams exchanging leads. At 8-8, Aldila and Zvonareva capitalized on a crucial service error from their opponents before sealing victory on the following point.

The Indonesian-Russian duo will next face the winner of the first-round match between top seeds Erin Routliffe/Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Nika Radisic/Andreja Klepac in the quarterfinals. ***
