RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s women’s doubles pair Aldila Sutjiadi and Janice Tjen suffered an early exit at the WTA 250 Libema Open 2026 in ’s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

Seeded second in the tournament, they fell in the opening round to the unseeded Dutch-British duo Isabelle Haverlag and Maia Lumsden, losing 1–6, 6–4, 8–10 in a tense super tie-break.

Haverlag and Lumsden dominated the first set with powerful serving, winning 90.9 percent of points on their first serve and firing two aces, Antara reported.

Although Aldila and Janice landed 78.3 percent of their first serves, they could not prevent their opponents from stringing together three consecutive games to take control.

The Indonesian pair fought back in the second set, breaking their opponents’ rhythm in the seventh game to edge ahead 4–3.

WTA statistics showed they won 77.3 percent of first-serve points and improved their return accuracy, allowing them to level the match and force a decider.

The super tie-break was fiercely contested, with the score locked at 5–5. Aldila and Janice surged ahead by three points, but Haverlag and Lumsden mounted a comeback, reeling off crucial points to clinch victory after one hour and ten minutes of play.

The defeat capped a disappointing campaign for Janice, who had also lost in the singles draw a day earlier to Belgium’s Greet Minnen in the first round.

This result underscores both the unpredictability of grass-court tennis and the challenges faced by Indonesia’s doubles hopefuls as they prepare for upcoming tournaments.

It connects to broader themes such as Indonesian women’s doubles performance, the competitive nature of WTA 250 grass-court events, and the career trajectory of Aldila Sutjiadi and Janice Tjen. ***
