RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesia Short Course Emerging Series 2026 officially opened at the Aquatic Stadium, Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, on Thursday, June 4, 2026. This championship is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the continuous development and regeneration of Indonesian swimmers.

The event carries the theme 'Empower Youth, Empower Indonesia, Believe In Your Future Scholar, Swimmer, Leader'. This theme reflects a commitment to producing a generation of swimmers who not only achieve sporting excellence but also possess strong leadership character.

The competition is organized through a collaboration among the National Sports Committee (KONI), the Indonesian Aquatic Federation (FAI), Barito Pacific, Chandra Asri, and Barito Renewables. This partnership is expected to strengthen a more structured and competitive aquatic sports development ecosystem.

KONI Chairman Marciano Norman, represented by Irfan Bachtiar, expressed appreciation to all supporting parties of the event. "Representing the KONI Chairman, I would like to express my appreciation to Chandra Asri Group, Barito Group, and Barito Renewables," Irfan said.

He also advised the participants to make the most of the competition as a tool for self-improvement. "Utilize this competition to hone your skills, gain experience, and step toward higher achievements," he continued.

Chairman of the Indonesia Short Course Emerging Series 2026 Committee, Wisnu Wardhana, appreciated the support from all parties involved in organizing the championship. "We express our gratitude and appreciation to KONI, Chandra Asri Group, Barito Pacific, and Barito Renewables," Wisnu said.

He added that continuous development is key to fostering higher achievements in the future. Therefore, the competition is expected to motivate athletes to keep progressing. Wisnu hopes all stakeholders will continue to support the growth of the national aquatic industry.

"FAI will continue to enhance sustainable training and development to generate greater achievements," he stated.

Human Resources and Corporate Affairs Director of Chandra Asri, Suryandi, noted that the championship holds great significance for Indonesia's younger generation. "We believe this championship serves as a platform for the youth to develop their potential and build character," Suryandi remarked.

The competition runs from June 4 to June 6, 2026, featuring 26 individual and relay events. A total of 750 athletes from various clubs are participating across four different age groups.
