RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Fresh off strong performances on clay, Indonesia’s women’s doubles pair Aldila Sutjiadi/Janice Tjen are set to begin their French Open 2026 campaign against Marie Bouzkova and Sara Sorribes Tormo (Czech Republic/Spain) on Wednesday, May 27.

Aldila recently finished runner-up at the Morocco Open alongside Vera Zvonareva, while Janice entered the WTA 250 Rabat as the top seed in singles.

Together, Aldila and Janice reached the quarterfinals at the Madrid Open and pushed American duo Coco Gauff and Caty McNally to a deciding super tie-break in Rome, underscoring their readiness for Roland Garros.

“All preparations are in place for the French Open. Aldila had a good run last week in Morocco, and with Janice they reached the quarterfinals in Madrid and nearly beat Coco and McNally in Rome. I believe they’re ready,” coach Christopher Rungkat said in a message on Tuesday, as quoted by Antara.

Christo added that Aldila has been training at Roland Garros in recent days, adjusting to the courts and conditions.

“We’ve been practicing on outside courts, but hopefully tomorrow we’ll get time on the main site. The courts are quite similar, so it shouldn’t be an issue,” he noted.

The matchup carries added weight for Aldila, who faced Bouzkova/Sorribes in a controversial third-round encounter at Roland Garros 2023. Partnering with Japan’s Miyu Kato, she was disqualified after a ball struck a ball girl, following protests from Bouzkova and Sorribes.

“Dila has played them before in that disqualification match. We’re ready now and hope to maximize our performance in the first round. With their recent doubles results, confidence should be high,” Christo said. ***
