RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - After a disappointing start at the Singapore Open 2026, Indonesian women’s doubles shuttlers Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti are turning their attention to the upcoming Indonesia Open 2026.
The pair, known as Ana/Tiwi, bowed out in the first round on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, after losing in straight games to China’s top-seeded duo Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning with identical scores of 15–21, 15–21.
“After this, our focus is on the Indonesia Open next week. We’ll definitely sharpen our preparations, especially in terms of technique,” Tiwi said, as quoted by Antara.
Fadia noted that the fast shuttlecock speed during the match forced them into an open game against Liu/Tan, who are known for their aggressive style.
“Neither side wanted to play defensively, so from start to finish we kept trying to push the shuttle down. We adapted as quickly as possible to the situation,” she explained.
She added that Liu/Tan’s unpredictable playing style makes them tougher opponents compared to other Chinese pairs.
“Their strength lies not only in their chemistry but also in their style, which resembles men’s doubles,” Fadia remarked.
The defeat extends Tiwi/Fadia’s losing record against Liu/Tan to two losses in two meetings, following their earlier semifinal defeat at the Asian Doubles Championship 2026.
Despite the setback, the Indonesian duo remains determined to regroup and deliver a stronger performance at their home tournament, where expectations will be high and the support of local fans could provide a crucial boost. ***
