Indonesia's Bhayangkara Presisi Reaches FIVB World Championship After AVC 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Pontianak - Indonesia’s Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi made history after winning the AVC Men’s Champions League 2026 title on Sunday, May 17, by defeating Iran’s Foolad Sirjan Iranian 3-1 in the final. The victory marked the first time an Indonesian club won Asia’s top men’s club volleyball tournament.

Playing in front of home supporters at GOR Terpadu Ahmad Yani in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Bhayangkara secured the win with set scores of 25-20, 24-26, 25-23, and 25-23. The result also secured the Indonesian club a place in the 2026 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship.

Bhayangkara Presisi opened the match with disciplined play and solid defensive organization. The Indonesian club closed the first set with a 25-20 victory after consistently pressuring Foolad Sirjan Iranian.

The second set was more competitive as Foolad Sirjan Iranian improved its attacking tempo and blocking. Bhayangkara Presisi stayed close until the end, but eventually lost the set 24-26 to level the match at 1-1.

Both teams continued to exchange points in a tense third set with the score remaining tight throughout the game. Bhayangkara Presisi managed to maintain composure in the closing stages and secured a 25-23 win to regain the lead.

Momentum remained with Bhayangkara Presisi in the fourth set as strong crowd support filled the arena in Pontianak. The match ended with a decisive service ace from Noumory Keita, sealing a 25-23 victory and the AVC Men’s Champions League 2026 title.

Keita became the standout player of the final after contributing 38 points for Bhayangkara Presisi. His performance earned him both the Most Valuable Player award and the Best Opposite title.

Indonesian player Raden Ahmad Gumilar was also recognized after receiving the Best Middle Blocker award. He recorded three crucial block points in the final and showed consistent defensive performances throughout the tournament.

Another Bhayangkara Presisi player, Robertlandy Simon Aties, was selected among the tournament’s top middle blockers. The recognition highlighted the Indonesian club’s defensive strength during its successful campaign.

The AVC Men’s Champions League 2026 was held in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, from May 13-17 and featured top volleyball clubs from across Asia competing for the continental crown and qualification spots to the 2026 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship. Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi finished as champions, followed by Iran’s Foolad Sirjan Iranian in second place and Japan’s JTEKT Stings Aichi in third.

The victory also secured Bhayangkara Presisi a place at the 2026 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship, which is scheduled to be held later this year. The tournament is expected to feature continental club champions from around the world, including top teams from Asia, Europe, South America, and Africa competing for the global title.
