Indonesian Riders Stay Competitive in ARRC Thailand Round

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s young motorcycle racers continued to show strong competitiveness on the Asian stage after Rheza Danica Ahrens secured a podium finish during the second round of the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) 2026 at Chang International Circuit, Buriram, Thailand.

The Astra Honda Racing Team rider finished second in the Asia Production (AP) 250 class, marking the team’s best achievement during the race weekend in Buriram and keeping Indonesia in contention in the season standings.

Starting from fifth position on Saturday, May 9, 2026, first AP250 race, Rheza immediately took the lead from the opening lap. Despite intense competition throughout the 10-lap race, the rider from Yogyakarta maintained his pace and secured second place on the podium.

“Although I did not reach the podium in race two, I still gained important points for the standings,” Rheza said in a written statement released in Jakarta on Sunday, May 10, as quoted by Antara.

In the second race, Rheza again showed competitive pace but finished fourth, narrowly missing another podium finish.

Meanwhile, Irfan Ardiansyah, who replaced Muhammad Badly Ayatullah, demonstrated positive progress by finishing seventh in race two.

In the Supersports (SS) 600 class, Herjun Atna Firdaus narrowly missed the podium after finishing fourth in race one before crashing on the fourth lap of race two.

Fadillah Arbi Aditama remained competitive despite not fully recovering from a qualifying incident, finishing seventh in race one and eighth in race two.

In the Asia Superbike (ASB) 1000 class, M. Adenanta Putra continued to improve in his debut season in the championship’s top category, finishing ninth in race one and seventh in race two.

The third round of the 2026 ARRC will take place at Mobility Resort Motegi from June 12-14. ***
