RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian rising motorcycle racer Muhammad Kiandra Ramadhipa has urged the establishment of a permanent racing circuit in Yogyakarta, underscoring the region’s growing reputation as a talent hub despite limited training facilities.

In an online interview on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the Sleman-born rider acknowledged that current constraints have not dampened his determination but stressed that better infrastructure would greatly enhance opportunities for young racers.

“I hope there will be a permanent circuit in Yogyakarta to make things easier. I would be very happy if there were better facilities because I could train more,” Kiandra said, as quoted by Antara.

He explained that he continues to maximize available resources, even if that means training in unconventional venues. “With these limitations, I get more motivation. I can still train enough even if it’s only in places like stadiums,” he added.

To compensate, Kiandra often travels outside Yogyakarta to access proper circuits, including facilities in nearby Boyolali. “There are one or two permanent circuits near Yogyakarta, like in Boyolali, and I usually go there,” he said.

Former Indonesian Moto2 rider Doni Tata Pradita echoed Kiandra’s concerns, emphasizing the urgent need for a permanent circuit in Yogyakarta to nurture local talent.

“We can produce many racers, but we still don’t have a permanent circuit. Hopefully, in the future, there will be facilities to support racers in Yogyakarta,” Doni said.

Despite these challenges, Yogyakarta has remained a motorsport hub, home to numerous racing schools and a strong training culture.

The region continues to produce internationally competitive riders, including Kiandra, who is currently building his career abroad through the Red Bull Rookies Cup and Moto3 JuniorGP.

He recently drew attention after securing his first victory in Race 2 of the Red Bull Rookies Cup at the Jerez Circuit in Spain.

His achievement adds to the growing list of Yogyakarta-born riders making their mark globally, such as Veda Ega Pratama, who competes on the international Moto3 stage. ***
