RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian women’s national 3x3 basketball team secured a place in the round of 16 at the Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 after finishing second in Group C, highlighting a strong group-stage performance of the team.

The qualification was confirmed following a 17-12 victory over Macau at the Sanya Sport Centre Gymnasium on Monday, April 27, 2026. The win marked Indonesia’s second triumph in the group stage, having earlier defeated Kyrgyzstan 16-11.

Indonesia’s only defeat came against the Philippines, where they fell narrowly 11-15. Despite the loss, the team’s overall record of two wins and one defeat was enough to secure second place in the standings.

The Philippines topped Group C with a perfect record, while Macau finished third with one win and two losses. Kyrgyzstan ended at the bottom of the table without a victory.

Head coach Fandi Andika Ramadhani expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, particularly in their final group match.

“In terms of gameplay, the match went according to what we had prepared. Our defense focused on preventing the opponents from getting comfortable taking two-point shots,” he said, on Monday, April 27, as quoted on Youth and Sports Ministry official website.

Indonesia will now await their opponent in the round of 16, with Malaysia, Taiwan, or Mongolia emerging as potential challengers.

The squad features Berlian Yesi Triutari, Diva Intan Nur Fadillah, Angelica Jennifer Candra, and Dewa Ayu Made Sriartha Kusuma Dewi, who emphasized the team’s competitive ambition.

“We’re definitely very happy with today’s win. We didn’t come here just to participate, but to win every game,” Ayu said. ***
