Aldila Sutjiadi Adjusts Miami Open Plans After Partner’s Injury Withdrawal

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s doubles tennis specialist Aldila Sutjiadi has been forced to reshuffle her preparations for the Miami Open 2026 after her original partner, Irina Khromacheva of Russia, pulled out due to injury.
The sudden change left Aldila and her team scrambling for a replacement. Coach Christopher Rungkat confirmed that the decision came at the last minute, disrupting their initial plan to pair Aldila with Khromacheva at both Indian Wells and Miami.
“As Khromacheva withdrew unexpectedly, we had to quickly adjust and find a new partner,” Christo said on Friday, March 20, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
Aldila will now team up with American player Ingrid Neel, who was also seeking a partner for Miami. The two had attempted to compete together at Indian Wells but failed to reach the main draw, entering only as the first alternates without a chance to play.
In Miami, preparations have already begun, though training sessions were briefly interrupted by thunderstorms. Christo noted that the focus now is on building chemistry between the new pairing in the limited time available. “We’ve started practicing, but the weather has been challenging. Still, we’ll continue to prepare as best we can,” he said.
Aldila and Neel are scheduled to open their campaign in the round of 32 on Saturday, March 21, 2026, facing the American duo Hailey Baptiste and Peyton Stearns.
