RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s rising cricket profile has reached the global stage, with Gede Agus Priandana officially recognized by Guinness World Records for a historic bowling feat.

Priandana, who hails from Klungkung, Bali, received his Guinness World Records certificate after claiming five wickets in a single over during the Twenty20 International (T20I) 2025 held in Bali. His achievement was recorded under two categories, namely “Most wickets taken in an over in a T20 International (male)” and “Most wickets taken in a single over in a professional cricket match".

“This recognition is a result of hard work and collaboration by everyone involved. On behalf of the Indonesian Cricket Association (PCI), I am pleased to announce that the official Guinness World Records certificate has been received,” PCI Secretary-General Albert W. Aridan Tangkudung said in a statement shared by GWR Indonesia on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Priandana expressed pride in etching his name into cricket history. Born on October 3, 1997, he began playing cricket in 2015 and continues to compete actively as a professional athlete.

His achievement follows another milestone for Indonesian cricket. In April 2024, women’s cricketer Rohmalia set a Guinness World Record by taking seven wickets without conceding a run in a women’s T20I match, becoming the first Indonesian cricketer to earn official recognition from GWR.

Indonesia’s growing presence in world cricket is also reflected in its national team’s activity. PCI confirmed that the men’s national team played 45 official T20I matches in 2025 -- the highest number recorded globally in a single calendar year.

According to ESPNcricinfo’s Statsguru database, Indonesia topped the list ahead of Rwanda (42 matches in 2023), Bahrain (41 in 2025), India (40 in 2022), and Austria (36 in 2025). Pakistan followed with 34 matches in 2025.

Together, these milestones highlight Indonesia’s rapid rise in international cricket, driven by record-breaking performances and an increasingly active national team. ***
