RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Fresh off their Thailand Masters triumph, Indonesia’s mixed doubles duo Adnan Maulana and Indah Cahya Sari Jamil are setting their sights on consistency as they return to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) circuit at the Swiss Open 2026.
The pair, who lifted the title in Bangkok last month, are making their first appearance since that victory.
“This is our first tournament after winning in Thailand, so of course we feel a renewed spirit. We want to stay consistent because we know defending success is harder than achieving it,” Indah said, as quoted by PBSI on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
Adnan and Indah opened their campaign in Basel with a convincing win, defeating compatriots Dejan Ferdinansyah and Bernadine Anindya Wardana in straight games at St Jakobshalle. Reflecting on the match, Adnan admitted they had a shaky start.
“In the first game we rushed too much and lost points unnecessarily. In the second game we calmed down and managed to control the match,” he explained.
As teammates in the national training camp, both pairs were already familiar with each other’s strategies. Indah noted that readiness was the decisive factor. “We meet often in practice, so we know each other’s game. Today it came down to who was more prepared,” she said.
Looking ahead, Adnan and Indah will face Taiwan’s Yang Po-Hsuan and Hu Ling Fang in the second round. It will be their first meeting against the Taiwanese duo, offering a fresh test as the Indonesians aim to sustain momentum and prove their consistency on the global stage. ***
