RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Contrasting fortunes for Indonesian women’s doubles pairs marked the opening round of the 2026 Swiss Open at the St. Jakobshalle arena, in Basel, with one pair advancing comfortably while another exited early on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti delivered a commanding performance to move into the second round of the BWF Super 300 tournament, while Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum were eliminated in the first round, Antara reported.

Pratiwi/Fadia defeated Poland’s Paulina Cybulska and Kornelia Marczak 21-10, 21-10 in just 29 minutes. The Indonesian duo immediately applied pressure and capitalized on their opponents’ errors to collect consecutive points, allowing the pair to control the pace of the match. After leading 11-6 at the first-game interval, they closed the opening game 21-10.

Their dominance continued in the second game, where they built an 11-5 advantage at the interval before sealing another 21-10 victory to secure a place in the round of 16.

Meanwhile, fellow Indonesians Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum were eliminated in the first round after losing 9-21, 19-21 to China’s Bao Li Jing and Luo Xu Min. The Chinese pair took early control in the opening game, playing aggressively and scoring three consecutive points that left Rachel/Febi trailing significantly.

Fast rallies and relentless pressure from the world No 188 pair made it difficult for the Indonesians to develop their game. Several unforced errors further widened the gap, with Bao/Luo leading 11-4 at the interval before extending the advantage to 18-7 and closing the first game 21–9.

The second game was more competitive as both pairs exchanged points. Rachel/Febi found their rhythm early, taking a 4-2 lead with accurate shots and tighter net play. Their momentum continued when they scored four straight points to lead 11-6 at the interval of the second game.

However, despite briefly leveling the score at 15-15, Rachel/Febi were unable to maintain their momentum and eventually lost 19-21, ending their campaign in the Super 300 tournament.

Bao/Luo will next face sixth seeds Hsu Yin-Hui and Lin Jhih Yun, who defeated Bengisu Ercetin and Nazlican Inci 21-18, 21-14.

Indonesia still has another women’s doubles pair in the competition, Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari, who are scheduled to face Japan’s Hinata Suzuki and Nao Yamakita in the first round. ***
