RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - A wave of new talent is set to mark Indonesia’s campaign at the prestigious All England Badminton Championships 2026, as 11 players prepare for their long-awaited debut on one of the sport’s grandest stages.
The tournament, held at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena from March 3–8, will feature a total of 24 Indonesian athletes, nearly half of whom are experiencing the atmosphere of the world’s oldest badminton competition for the first time.
The debutants span four categories - men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles - while the women’s singles contingent is represented solely by Putri Kusuma Wardani, who already has prior All England experience.
Mixed doubles category contributes the largest share of newcomers, with two fresh pairs: Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu and Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah. In men’s singles, rising star Alwi Farhan will make his debut, joining seasoned campaigner Jonatan Christie, who returns with eyes firmly set on the title.
Men’s doubles also welcomes youthful energy through Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin, competing alongside established Indonesian pairs such as Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana, and Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Rahmat Hidayat.
On the women’s doubles side, Rachel Allessya Rose and Febi Setianingrum will step into the All England spotlight for the first time, joining compatriots Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi.
Indonesia’s lineup also features a unique partnership in mixed doubles: Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja teaming up with Singapore’s Hee Yong Kai Terry, adding an international flavor to the nation’s campaign. ***
