RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s professional futsal operator, PT Kompetisi Futsal Indonesia (KFI), has entered into a partnership with Spanish club Palma in a bid to raise the quality of the nation’s futsal competition to international standards.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen the ecosystem of the Pro Futsal League (PFL), particularly in club management, player and coach development, and long-term exposure for Indonesian futsal clubs on the global stage. It also aims to enhance the league’s commercial value.
“I came here to help build Indonesia’s professional league into a reference point in Asia and one of the most important leagues in the world,” said Palma President Jose Tirado during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday, February 9, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
“This is about creating one of the best leagues in Asia, one that can be recognized globally. Our cooperation here is not about doing something minor; it is about a serious commitment,” added Tirado, who will serve as a strategic advisor to the PFL.
His role will include monitoring Indonesian futsal with a focus on sports management, competition organization, club structure, and the professionalization of the sport.
The presence of Tirado and Palma is seen as a positive boost for Indonesian futsal, offering fresh momentum to build a stronger and more sustainable ecosystem.
Palma, based in Spain, is one of the most successful futsal clubs in Europe, having won the UEFA Futsal Champions League three consecutive seasons from 2022/2023 to 2024/2025, along with two Intercontinental Cup titles in 2023 and 2024. ***
