RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia will face Iran, the most successful team in the Asian Futsal Cup, having won 13 of their previous 15 finals. The match will be played at the Indonesia Arena on Saturday, 7 February at 7:00 PM Indonesia Western Time.
Indonesia is making its first appearance in the Asian Futsal Cup final, while their opponents Iran will be playing in their 16th final in history, with all 13 previous finals ending in victory.
Iran, the defending champions, is the most successful team in the Futsal Asia Cup, having won 13 titles. Iran is one of only two teams to have won the Futsal Asia Cup, along with Japan, which has four.
According to Indonesian Futsal Team coach, Hector Souto, as immediate preparation his team will undergo recovery. After that, Indonesia will hold a training session on Friday, 6 February, to develop the best tactics to defeat the Asian futsal kings.
Previously, Indonesian Futsal national team beat Japan on the semifinal match of AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026 held in Jakarta on Thursday, 5 February 2026 with the score 5 - 3.
Indonesian team make the first two goal through Samuel Eko, but the fun is temporary because Japan made a goal through Takehiro (31') and Kazuya Shimizu (35').
At the end of the second half, Firman Ardiansyah gave Indonesia a 3-2 lead, but Japan, determined to push the match into extra time with a penalty from Shimizu.
In extra time, the victory was finally sealed for the Garuda team when Reza Gunawan scored in the 45th minute and Dewa Rizki scored in the 48th minute.
