Indonesia Sends 16 Cyclists to Asian Road Championship in Saudi Arabia

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia is fielding its 16 best cyclists at the Asian Road Cycling Championship 2026, set to take place in Al-Qassim, Saudi Arabia, from February 5–13. The event, part of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) calendar, marks a key milestone in the nation’s sporting agenda.

The Merah Putih squad features 10 male and six female riders who will compete against Asia’s finest, Antara reported. 

The men’s team includes Aiman Cahyadi, M. Syelhan, Astnan Maulana, Dimas N. Fadhil, M. Abdurrohman, M. Andy Royan, Raihan Maulidan, M. Hafizh, Radita Etto Wibowo, and Vinsya Aditya Putra Ramadhana. 

On the women’s side, the lineup consists of Ayustina Delia Priatna, Nihayatuzzain Asshofi, Sayu Bella Sukma Dewi, Shafa Al Zahra, Ida Ayu Manik, and Syahla Syafiah.

For Indonesia, the championship serves as an important test of readiness ahead of a busy 2026 season, including the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The team carries momentum from past success, notably Ayustina Delia Priatna’s silver medal in the women’s Individual Time Trial at the 2022 edition.

This year’s championship is set to be the largest in the region’s cycling history. The Saudi Cycling Federation confirmed that Saudi Arabia has secured hosting rights for both the Asian Road Cycling Championship and the Asian Para-Cycling Championship, marking the country’s first time staging continental-level road cycling events.

More than 1,500 athletes from around 40 Asian nations are expected to compete across 24 race categories, spanning elite men and women, juniors, youth, and para-cycling. All races will be held on specially prepared road circuits in the Qassim Region, designed to meet UCI safety and technical standards.

The event also aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes sports development, broader community participation, and positioning Saudi Arabia as a hub for sport tourism and international competition in the Middle East. ***
