RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia wrapped up its campaign at the ASEAN Para Games (APG) 2025 in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, running from January 20-26, 2026, with an impressive tally of 135 gold, 143 silver, and 114 bronze medals.

According to the official APG 2025 website, Team Indonesia collected medals across 18 sports, securing second place in the overall standings. The achievement surpassed the government’s initial target of 82 gold, 77 silver, and 77 bronze medals set by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Antara reported.

From the outset, Indonesia had set a realistic goal of finishing in the top three, mindful that several of its strong events were not contested and that participation from some countries, including Cambodia, was reduced.

Led by Chef de Mission Reda Manthovani, the Indonesian contingent delivered consistent performances throughout the week-long competition, significantly exceeding expectations.

Several sports emerged as key contributors to the medal count. Para athletics dominated with 44 gold, 39 silver, and 23 bronze medals, while para swimming followed with 29 gold, 37 silver, and 20 bronze.

Para badminton also outperformed its target, securing 12 gold, nine silver, and seven bronze medals. Para powerlifting added nine gold and four silver, and para judo stood out by sweeping all events it entered, winning seven gold, three silver, and one bronze.

On the final day, Indonesia’s medal tally grew further through para chess, with decisive matches held at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University Auditorium.

The Games concluded with a closing ceremony at the 80th Birthday Anniversary Stadium in Nakhon Ratchasima, scheduled for Monday, January 26, marking the end of a successful campaign for Indonesian athletes. ***
