RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian PUBG Mobile squad has secured its place in the main draw of the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi–Nagoya, advancing with momentum after a runner‑up finish in the qualification Grand Final held in Vietnam on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

The result placed Indonesia second behind Pakistan, who topped the qualifiers. Alongside Indonesia, seven other nations earned tickets to the Asian Games PUBG Mobile event: Vietnam, Thailand, Jordan, Uzbekistan, Nepal, and Myanmar.

“PUBG Mobile also secured qualification from the 12 teams in the Grand Final. We finished second, with Pakistan--fresh off their PMGO world title in June 2026--taking first place,” Indonesia’s head coach Richard Permana stated, as quoted by Antara.

Richard acknowledged Pakistan as a key rival but emphasized Indonesia’s marked improvement compared to their opening‑day performance in the qualifiers.

“We turned our performance around 180 degrees from the first day to the Grand Final. It was very clear to see,” he noted.

He added that the showing in Vietnam was only a glimpse of the team’s potential, with further refinement planned during national training camp ahead of the Asian Games.

“This was just a small version of what we can deliver. The final form will be built at the national training camp (Pelatnas), and we hope to showcase it fully in Aichi–Nagoya,” Richard said.

The coach also credited the Indonesian Esports Federation (ESI) for its support in player development, adaptation, and tactical preparation.

Team member Fazriel Haikal Aditya expressed gratitude to Indonesian fans. “Thank you to everyone who supported us. Your encouragement means a lot. We hope all Indonesians striving in their own fields can feel the pride of carrying the nation’s name,” he said.

Indonesia’s PUBG Mobile roster features Fazriel Haikal Aditya, Juventino Ryan Jeremy R., Micho Ananda Pratama W., Muh Fathyn Zilhaq S., and Sharfan Syahman Shodiq, under head coach Deni Fianda and assistant coach Bintang Prakoso P.

Indonesia advanced to the Grand Final after finishing fifth in Group A, which included Saudi Arabia, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Jordan, and Hong Kong.

Group B featured Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Bahrain, Nepal, Malaysia, the UAE, Laos, Myanmar, Oman, Pakistan, and Brunei Darussalam. ***
