Indonesia’s Alwi Farhan Wins Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia secured a title at the Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2026, a tournament that is part of the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500, held at Istora Senayan, Jakarta. The event is one of the regular stops on the BWF World Tour calendar.

In the men’s singles final on Sunday, January 25, 2026, Indonesian player Alwi Farhan won the title after defeating Thailand’s Panitchaphon Terrarasakul in straight games, 21-5, 21-6. The result confirmed Indonesia’s sole title at this year’s tournament.

He controlled the match from the opening game and maintained his lead through the second game, preventing his opponent from narrowing the score margin. The final concluded in two games without the need for a deciding third game.

The title marked Alwi Farhan’s first championship at BWF Super 500 level and his first title of the 2026 season. The result added to his ranking points on the BWF World Tour.

Following the match, Alwi Farhan expressed his appreciation to those who supported him during the tournament. “I hope Indonesian badminton will continue to achieve better results in the future,” Alwi said, as quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The men’s singles final was also attended by Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Youth and Sports, Taufik Hidayat, as well as PBSI President Fadil Imran, alongside spectators at Istora Senayan who followed the match until its conclusion.

The Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2026 was held over six days, from January 20 to 25, 2026, and featured 274 players from 21 countries. The tournament forms part of the international badminton calendar under the BWF World Tour series.
